Driving Forces
ConceptStep 2: Analyze
Definition
The forces pushing a system toward change or improvement.
Driving forces are one side of Force Field Analysis. They represent the pressures, motivations, and enablers that support moving from the current state to the desired state — such as leadership support, regulatory requirements, or customer complaints. Understanding driving forces helps a team leverage momentum and identify allies for the change effort.
