Data Over Opinions
Principle
Definition
The PIPS principle that every decision must be grounded in evidence, not gut feelings.
Data Over Opinions is the first core PIPS principle. It requires that every claim about a problem, every diagnosis of a cause, and every recommendation for a solution be supported by evidence. This does not require advanced statistics — it means counting things, measuring things, and being honest about what the numbers say. The loudest voice in the room does not win; the data does.
