Lean
Definition
A methodology focused on eliminating waste and maximizing value in processes.
Lean is a management philosophy originating from the Toyota Production System. It focuses on identifying and eliminating waste (muda) — any activity that consumes resources without creating value for the customer. PIPS incorporates Lean thinking in its emphasis on data-driven problem identification and its focus on measurable improvement, but packages it in a more accessible framework.
