PIPS Cycle

Methodology

Definition

A complete pass through all 6 PIPS steps from problem identification to evaluation.

A PIPS Cycle is one complete iteration through the 6 steps: Identify, Analyze, Generate, Select & Plan, Implement, and Evaluate. The evaluation in Step 6 determines the next action: standardize the improvement, iterate with another cycle on remaining gaps, or start an entirely new cycle on a different problem. Multiple cycles compound over time to produce significant organizational improvement.
