List Reduction
Definition
A technique to narrow a large set of options to a manageable shortlist using rapid group filtering.
List reduction is used in Step 2 (Analyze) or Step 4 (Select & Plan) when a group has generated more options than can be evaluated in depth. Common approaches include multi-voting (dot voting), "must-have" filters, and paired elimination. The goal is not to select the winner but to remove clear non-starters so the team can focus analytical energy on the most promising options.
